Patent Attorney

We are looking for an additional patent attorney to join our team, preferably one who is qualified (perhaps recently-qualified) in a Commonwealth jurisdiction such as Singapore, Australia, New Zealand or the UK.

Patent attorneys operate at the cross-over between law and technology, dealing day-to-day with patent law and practice for inventions in often cutting-edge technology. As such, the successful candidate will have:

• a good university degree in a relevant discipline, such as electrical engineering, physics or computer science;
• a qualification as a patent attorney in a Commonwealth jurisdiction (although consideration will be given to exceptional candidates who are nearing qualification as a patent attorney in Singapore);
• excellent English-language skills;
• an appreciation for the need for effective communication;
• good analytical skills and the ability to grasp complex technological and legal concepts;
• an attention to fine detail;
• an outgoing and friendly personality.

Senior Legal Secretary/Paralegal

We are also looking for a Senior Legal Secretary/Paralegal to join us and work closely with our existing experienced/senior secretaries.

Job Responsibilities:

All aspects of patent secretary duties, including:

• Preparation and efiling of legal documents
• Attention to client correspondence and invoicing
• Tracking legal deadlines and maintaining our client and case records
• Assistance with some accounts matters.

Requirements:

The successful candidate will have:

• relevant experience as a Patent/Trademark secretary (although consideration will be given to excellent candidates having sufficient experience in other legal fields)
• a desire to make a serious contribution to a growing and dynamic team;
• a good command of the English language, with proficiency in both spoken and written English;
• a fine attention to detail;
• a willingness to learn and grow;
• proficiency with Microsoft Office; and
• a friendly and outgoing personality.
